Throne for the Idol

Throne for the IdolFor as long as Brother Rikard can remember he has devoted his life to Maker He has stayed chaste and devout in his religion until the day his body demands the attention and affection that is commonplace for people who do not resided in the Lindisfarena Monastery In the evenings he sits in the temple letting his fingers caress the keys of an organ in the hope of distracting himself from the need that is boiling in his soul Unfortunately, it isn t his deity that hears his pleas in the melody of his song High Demon Semiazas craves death and darkness, and if the chaos occurs by his hands, then that s all the better Semiazas hears Rikard s songs and is drawn to the brother, prepared to take his life But something in the song stirs an emotion in Semiazas that he is not familiar with, causing him to pause in his attack Drawn to each other in an unexplained way their lips meet, creating a catalyst that launches Rikard into danger Now Semiazas will have to decide if he will save Rikard or let him die Throne for The Idol is a fast paced short story filled with passion and emotion Author Ciaran Dwynvil has written a beautiful poetic tale of star crossed lovers The lyrical prose swiftly sucks you into Dwynvil s world and leaves you mesmerized by the scenes as they unfold I loved the juxtaposition created by a religious servant falling for a demon The contrast creates room for some interesting discussion with your friends While the story is beautifully written, I did have an issue with the excessive hyperbole in the beginning of the story I was really confused about the discussion of a baby It wasn t until I reread the section that I realized it was a metaphor for Rikard s new feelings Another word to the wise, this story is an erotic tale and contains a graphic male on male sex scene Even though the scene is written with care and in a way that I didn t find offensive, I can see how some prudish readers could have an issue I really enjoyed this story, and it is evident that the author is very talented If you are looking for a fantasy story which is a quick read and filled with sizzling hot passion, then give this one a chance I don t think you ll regret it This book was provided to Compulsion Reads by the author for review.
