Al is annoying and obviously manipulative Dana falls for it Bad things happen The end I wish I d avoided this short story It was of a waste of time that made me think Dana has learned nothing after all and made me really not like her again after we d almost made up at the end of book 3.I like these little side stories usually or I would not have read this one I would recommend avoiding it. Link was excited to find that this series had an end so unlike a lot of books out there where the ending is nowhere in sight and since I read the first book a while ago, I was glad to finally finish the series It always feels good to actually finish an entire series because you know the story is actually done as opposed to constantly waiting for the next one and being patient everyone who knows me, knows that I am far from patient.Anyways, moving on if there was one word to describe Dana, it would be pushover And probably na ve, to be honest I felt like she was always being manipulated into doing something or at least talked into doing something even though she clearly knew it was a bad idea Or she ll just be manipulated into doing something and then realize that she fell into a hole And the thing was that she never learned from her mistake No wonder the Erlking found her so amusing because again and again, she fell into his traps Other than her being incredibly gullible and na ve and possibly her inability to share information with her supposed best friends, I did like her overall I found her to be very caring especially towards her loved ones which is why she always ended up in a trap from the Erlking She was incredibly protective of those she cared about and that most likely her best quality Personally, I think the only smart thing she did was at the end when she bargained with Titania and even then, it was a gamble The other characters Keane, Kimber, Ethan, Finn and even the Erlking did a nice job supporting the overall plot I really liked the dynamic between Kimber and Keane even though it wasn t very emphasized I still don t really understand the attraction between Ethan and Dana, however It seemed that she was mostly into him due to his looks unless it was mentioned in the first book in which case, I completely forget since it has been years since I picked that up At least Ethan seemed to mature in the last book compared to the second one As for the Erlking I found him hilarious especially when every single time, he would manipulate Dana and she would fall for it all over again He was such a troll in some way The one thing I was a little confused about was the plot it seemed that both the Seelie and the Unseelie court was against Dana yet the entire series ended with her only resolving thing with Titania of the Seelie court What about the Unseelie court and Mab, their queen The novella at the end touched a little bit on Mab s daughter but it definitely in no way resolved anything with Mab herself So the ending was a little disappointing because the entire situation hasn t been resolved completely and you re left wondering what will happen in the future and if Dana will be assassinated or whatever by Mab That was definitely the main disappointer in this series.Overall, it was a decent series and I m glad that I have finished it Would have enjoyed it a little if things were a little resolved and if Dana wasn t such a pushover though However, I would still recommend this to those who are into fae and whatnot. Dana Is Finally Getting Comfortable With Her Life As The OnlyFaeriewalker In Avalon She S Formed An Alliance With The Erlking, Atruce With The Queen Of The Seelie Court, And Best Of All, No One Stried To Kill Her For WeeksEnter Althea The Teenage Daughter Of Mab, The Unseelie Queen Danaknows From The Moment She Sets Eyes On The Wannabe Goth Chick That Alis Trouble, But She Finds Herself Drawn To The Wounded Soul Sheglimpses Beneath The Faerie GlamourWhen Al Asks Dana To Take Her Into The Mortal World To Visit The Humanboyfriend Her Mother Has Driven Away, Dana Refuses, Knowing That QueenMab Would Hold Her Personally Responsible If Anything Happened To Herdaughter But Al Is A Faerie Princess, And She S Not Used To Taking Nofor An AnswerWill Dana Ignore Her Common Sense And Risk The Unseelie Queen S Wrathto Help Her New BFF And If Not, Just How Far Is Al Willing To Go Toget Her Own Way well, i loved the faeriewalker series, and this disappointed me a bit because, Dana which is a bad ass in her own right , since she trains with her self defense personal trainer, a faerie non the less and being that she herself is half fey, she is stronger than a regular human and has resistance, so it bugged me to no end that she was such a wuss on this book I wont say any spoilers but basically she is coerced by a faerie princess to bring her to the mortal world so she can see her missing boyfriend, a human a thin scrawny built moron events turn for the bad real quick, and Miss Dana is scared to beat the crap out of this dude, like she wasn t sure she could take him.i was dumbfounded the story itself is good except the way Dana is portrayed as a damsel in distress and maybe I m not used to short stories but it ended abruptly like what the hell review first posted to my blogI love the Faeriewalker series, but I always feel sorry for Dana because she s never quite in charge of her own choices And this novella is no different I assumed that when she finally agreed to help Al it was because it peer pressure, but once again the Fae find a way to use magic against her and despite the fact that she is able to tell that Al is doing magic she just assumes with a whole bunch of other people that the magic she is doing is simply for her glamour spell.Thankfully in this episode Dana is actually starting to think for herself , and although she still manages to get caught up in trouble she is able to come up with a plan to help herself out of it I was a little disappointed that we didn t get to see how things played out between Dana and Mab once they got back to Avalon but i guess that will help fan the flames of another book.If you haven t read any of the Faeriewalker series yet then you should definitely check them out. Yeah I did NOT like this one Besides the fact that it felt like it was just opening up for another series, it was irritating.A lot of the heroines in these paranormal romance stories tend to be self sacrificing and giving to a fault They always make the stupid decisions to help those around them, which ends up causing trouble than helping They tend to run into danger without thinking Up until now, while the heroine of this series hasn t pushed that stereotype to a frustrating level for me, in this short story it does She knows the sudo villain of the story is trouble, but she still jumps in head first The heroine is spineless and unwilling to stand up for herself, which is completely out of character And while the author tries to explain this away as not being her fault because of magic compulsion , it just didn t feel true to me The heroine had managed to overcome magic manipulation in the past by stronger people and this is the one time she doesn t Add onto that that the hero continues to fall in my estimation Rather than the heroine standing up for herself, she looks to the hero to save her from having to grow a pair and he walks away, leaving her in a bad situation Granted, he probably had no idea it was going to get as bad as it did, but he knew his girlfriend was asking for help and he turned his back on her Jerk I still don t understand what she sees in him, other than being hot and flirty Ugh. Dana Hathaway thinks it might just be safe to emerge from her father s safehouse when Queen Mab s daughter Althea barges into her life intent on taking advantage of Dana s Faeriewalker ability to visit her human boyfriend in London The results as expected disastrous, requiring all Dana s cunning and courage to get them out of danger without causing a Fae war The novel ends on the way back to Avalon, and we never learn what the consequences will be This 2012 novella is obviously a set up for a future Faeriewalker novel, but so far nothing That makes it feel a bit like an unfair tease on Black s part. Jenna Black, Remedial Magic B004FPYZLQ, Personally, I think it is silly to publish this short tidbit all by itself Why not place the trilogy in 3 separate sections of one book It would take a little bit longer to read leaving the reader satisfied It is a waste of time to download 3 tiny books The author is a good writer She really should consider publishing small series together I believe in the long run, the reviews would go UP as the reader may feel an entire book was read instead of a teaser ASIN 1490928898 Raining Angels A good short read that doesn t involve romance This is a short side story to the series Glimmerglass Shadowspell Sirensong No sign of the Erlking in this one sadly I do have a soft spot for bad bad boys. I m not sure what the point to this novella is Will there be books in this series A new character was introduced named Al who is the daughter of the Unseelie Queen who is basically the fairy version of an angsty teenager She had bad news written all over her and manipulates Dana into helping her find her ex boyfriend Dana doesn t even like her yet still decides to risk their safety to help her There are some twists that explain why, but it feels like a cop out and I wasn t intrigued. However, I did like when they inevitably get into trouble Dana steps up and is the one who comes up with a plan to save the day In the end I don t see where this story fits in with the series, why it exists and some of the plot points seem off However, it was nice to see Dana taking of a leadership role in a dangerous situation.
